We are continuously innovating to make 2TEC2 flooring fully circular, step by step.

Care

Care for the planet & the environment

At 2TEC2, we produce responsibly by increasing our use of renewable resources and decreasing our CO2 emissions:

  • 2TEC2 is 100% vertically integrated in one location, reducing CO2 emissions from transport.
  • We make use of photovoltaic panels and a giant battery energy storage systen (BESS).
  • We work with a heat recovery system and a closed water cooling system to reuse energy and water.

Environmental Product Declaration

Our renewed EPD’s have been published, showcasing our improvement in reducing our CO₂ emissions! 2TEC2’s SonoFeltTM 19 dB has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 6.02 kg CO₂/​m² (*). Compared with our previous standard product, that’s an improvement of 1.07 kg CO₂/​m²!

Our care

We care for the planet and the environment

We take great care to operate sustainable and climate-friendly factories and are fully engaged in minimizing our carbon emissions.

We make our floors in fully integrated production operations in one central location. As we operate completely in-house, we have total control over the entire production process, including for example waste management. In this way, we can avoid damage to the environment. 

We use solar power, a smart heat recovery system, a sparingly water recovery technique and an energy storage installation in our factories, in this way considerably limiting reliance on nonrenewable fossil fuels.

We care about people and health

We design floors. These floors are put in buildings where people stay, work and live. Did you know that we easily spend more than 80% of our life time indoors?

Our care for your health is non-negotiable. 2TEC2 products offer absolute safety and maximum wellbeing, as VOC emissions and therefore air pollution are minimized.

Recycled content, recyclability and circularity. We’re closing the loop. 

  • We strive to increase the recycled content in all layers of our product. 
  • Our acoustic felt backing layer SonoFelt is mainly composed out of recycled PET content. We work hard to continuously increase this share.
  • If a few tiles in your building are stained or worn, you can choose to just locally replace them and easily extend the lifespan of your floor with some extra years. This pragmatic approach avoids waste. 
  • Once 2TEC2 tiles are truly end of life, they are fully recyclable. 
  • 2TEC2 itself is opening up a production line where we can now do our very own recycling and re-use these materials directly into the production of new 2TEC2 tiles and rolls. 
  • 2TEC2 tracks and measures how our materials are doing over time in your buildings. Official certifications, performance reports and documentation labels give you utmost transparency in what to expect: detailed contents and origins, how the floor will be doing over the years, and what is scheduled at the end of its life in terms of recyclability, circularity or waste recovery.


Innovation and durability as key drivers in our journey

We never cease to move forward

Truly revolutionary in woven flooring, we have been introducing biobased content into our collections from 2023 onwards. This means that we replace no less than 45% of fossil fuels in the yarns of the woven top layer with 45% renewable bio-based materials of plant-based origin. A massive step in eco-flooring and preserving our finite resources.

We create our products without any phthalates or heavy metals.

We care deeply about how our flooring will do over time

In your daily and weekly maintenance, you can save out on use of harmful chemical cleaner products or detergents, as most cleaning can happen with just clear water. 

Our long-lasting type of vinyl, proven strong in year-long building applications, is literally a very durable material in time; uv-resistant, fit for commercial use class 33, resistant to office chair pressure and easy cleanable. Under normal use conditions, you have no need to switch or replace our floors for the next 15 years. 

Compliance

2TEC2 is REACH compliant, and qualifies highly for LEED and BREEAM ratings for your building schemes.

REACH is a regulation of the European Union, adopted to improve the protection of human health, and the environment, from the risks that can be posed by chemicals.

LEED and BREEAM are building certification schemes that ensure that buildings move towards the most healthy and eco-friendly building solutions. 2TEC2 flooring contributes to the LEED and BREAAM certification of buildings.
